As your Police Chief at the Anderson Police Department, I am steadfast in our mission to deliver professional police services through a team that is highly trained and rooted in ethical practices. We are dedicated to strengthening public safety and enhancing crime prevention strategies. This involves a proactive approach to addressing community-specific issues, ensuring that our responses are tailored to meet the unique needs of our neighborhoods in Anderson.

In the face of natural disasters and large-scale emergencies, our readiness is paramount. The Anderson Police Department is enhancing its emergency preparedness through robust collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring we can respond swiftly and effectively.

Chief Collin’s Biography

Chief Oliver Collins, Anderson Police Department

With over 24 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Collins brings a wealth of expertise to our department. For the past seven years, he served as Captain of the Emeryville Police Department. Now, he looks forward to leading Anderson’s exemplary police force and making a positive impact in the North State.

His academic credentials include graduating from the FBI National Academy and the POST Command College, along with a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership & Management.

Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Collins has served in various capacities, including the Detectives Unit, SWAT Team, and Traffic Unit. He is deeply committed to ongoing professional development and is actively involved in numerous law enforcement affiliations.

Chief Collins has strong ties to our community. Early in his career, he attended Shasta College, and he owns property near Anderson, where his parents have lived for the past 25 years.

Passionate about community engagement, Chief Collins is dedicated to being an active participant in the community he serves. He and his amazing wife, Carrie, have been happily married for 27 years and have three adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, working on home projects, restoring vehicles, and spending quality time with his family.

What draws Chief Collins to Anderson is his alignment with our city’s vision, values, and culture. He appreciates the town’s focus on sustainable growth, its rich traditions, and the small-town charm that makes Anderson a special place to call home.
